Exciting times ahead. Microsoft Silverlight (and also Adobe Flash) can be used not just within the web browser where they have been making websites more dynamic, interactive, and web 2.0 for a while already.
But very interestingly, these applications can also run outside the web browser on the desktop.
Yet, designing a dynamic application and making it user friendly is much harder compared to old web 1.0 website design. Therefore, granular analytics are key to continuous usability optimization.
Granular analytics were always available with Unica’s web analytics solution for Microsoft Silverlight (and Adobe Flash) while the application runs in the browser.
But what happens when for example the Silverlight application runs outside the browser on the desktop where there is no JavaScript tagging available for data collection?
As you can see on Michael Scherotter’s Synergist blog post, there is exciting news expected on Microsoft’s Silverlight Analytics Framework to be shared at their Mix conference.
Unica is excited to be involved in this framework project.
Unica customers know that web analytics is not just helping them with continuous usability optimization of their websites and Microsoft Silverlight based applications.
But the more dynamic the interaction, the richer the source of behavioral data about individuals’ RFM and content + product preferences. Cutting edge marketers know to listen to their clients so that any inbound and outbound interactions can be made more relevant based on the lessons learned.
Expect to hear more about the framework down the road.
